After wowing RVers with its initial floorplan offering, the 32PBS, Holiday Rambler’s heralded new Trip ups the ante with its latest floorplan design: the all-new 35PBD.
With the spotlight on this versatile 35-foot double-slide and all that’s new, it’s important to point out that perhaps its most significant feature remains the same — the Navistar-influenced vertical integration technique, which means that the Trip’s body, engine and chassis are all built by the same company. This is becoming ubiquitous with Holiday Rambler motorhomes, but still unheard of throughout the rest of the RV industry.
The Trip takes many of the cutting-edge RV advancements perfected by Navistar resources and packages them in an RV that’s easy on your budget and easy on the eyes, without skimping on performance. It’s no wonder the sleek-profiled Trip has been dubbed Holiday Rambler’s Next Generation RV.
Many of its valued assets remain the same for 2012, including its best-in-class Roadmaster™ chassis with gross vehicle weight rating of 29,000 pounds, an air-leveling system, airbrakes, and four deluxe air bags forming the foundation of its suspension system, and providing extra strength without added weight, a quieter ride without sacrificing power and greater fuel efficiency without diminished performance.
A lightweight, quiet and fuel-efficient 300-horsepower MaxxForce® 7 EPA10 6.4L engine (with exhaust brake) is new for 2012. Still boasting its groundbreaking Advance EGR technology, it remains the only no-hassle solution for complying with 2010 emissions regulations. Unlike other solutions, there is no extra equipment to maintain or fluids to add.
Inside, the 35PBD offers a living area slide that houses a 68-inch sofa and U-shaped dinette, along with a bedroom slide that houses the queen-sized bed and allows for the added TV cabinet/dresser, large wardrobe and stackable washer/dryer option in the bedroom. In the living area, under the overhead 32-inch LCD TV, is a Euro-recliner with ottoman and multi-purpose flip-up workstation.
Additional, must-have amenities include custom designed UltraLeather furniture, Corian® countertops with decorative backsplashes, tile floors in living area, kitchen and bath, 200-Amp alternator, 10 gallon water heater, LCD touch screen AM/FM/CD stereo with Sirius® radio compatibility, a Kingdome UHF/VHF TV antenna with built-in channel finder, monitor panel with tank levels, generator switch and water pump switch, unique hardwood cabinet styling, and easy-access, rear exterior pass-through storage.
With car-like driving characteristics, the Trip’s cockpit dash is the most ergonomically designed in class history, and features improved vision angles, easy-reach cup holders, easy-to-see mirrors and switches, and an iPod™ docking station. The optional GPS unit is removable too, to help you find your way, even when you’re away from the coach.
Complementing its distinctive and stylish grille design, Holiday Rambler has added two all-new exterior color schemes (Chocolate Thunder and Onyx) to its 2012 Trip line.
